Ibstock are continuing its commitment to support the next generation of construction talent through the donation of bricks to colleges right across the UK. In 2024 the Group donated over 311,000 bricks to schools and colleges.

NHBC Cast Stone Notice Jan-25

The National House Building Council (NHBC) has introduced a minor but important change to its standards for 2025, specifically regarding cast stone detailing for copings, cappings and sills. This update is outlined in the NHBC Standard 2025 - Section 6.11.7.1 and aims to improve water management and protect rendered walls from damage.

WE ARE thrilled to have partnered with The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) on the launch of an innovative digital series titled The Nature of Building: Biodiversity & the Built Environment. 

Created in collaboration with Content With Purpose (CWP), the series examines the complex connection between construction and nature and the urgent need for the industry to address the rapidly worsening biodiversity crisis. 

Ibstock joins a new digital series from CIOB to highlight the construction industry’s role in tackling the biodiversity crisis.  

Stepoc basement 

Stepoc blocks, Ibstock’s industry-leading dry laid precast concrete block retaining wall system, are hollow which allows for reinforcement bars to be inserted and for concrete to be pumped down through the inter-connected cavities in the blocks, creating a cascade or waterfall effect which ensures a smooth filling of the pumped concrete, forcing out air and eliminating segregation, to create walls which have immense compressive and lateral strength.

In 2023, we undertook significant planting activity, engaging Ibstock colleagues, as part of our estate enhancement activity. In total over 3,200 bluebells and 350 trees were planted including our commemorative King Charles III Coronation tree plantation of oak and maple at Ibstock’s headquarters in
Leicestershire, set into the woodland planted in 2016 when over 17,000 trees were set.
